Bryofl ora of selected localities in the Krkonoše and Hrubý Jeseník Mts was surveyed in 2014 –2017 as a supplement to the survey project Evolution of vegetation and mezzo/microrelief in the Krkonoše Mts during the Holocene. A total of 190 bryophyte species was recorded during the survey, 188 of them in the Krkonoše Mts and 50 in the Hrubý Jeseník Mts 33 of the species are listed as threatened species of the Czech bryofl ora. The glacial cirques were richest in bryophyte species. More bryophyte species were found at the localities in the Krkonoše Mts than in the Hrubý Jeseník Mts. The results could be caused by differences in the size of the mountain ranges, altitude, extent of quaternary glaciation and the different area of peatbogs in the two mountain regions of the High Sudetes.
