Příspěvek v první části shrnuje dosavadní stav bádání českých a polských historiků nad dějinami cestovního ruchu v Krkonoších v 1. polovině 19. století. Analýza a komparace těchto pramenů má potenciál doplnit dosud bílá místa krkonošské cestovatelské historiografie z pohledu českých cestovatelů.
The paper presents the current status of a research on the history of tourism in the Giant Mts (Krkonoše in Czech, Karkonosze in Polish) in the fi rst half of the 19th century conducted by Czech and Polish historians. The authors of the studies and monographies derived information especially from printed materials (travelogues, guidebooks and collections of veduts) from the same period and printed diaries; therefore the authors’ point of view is limited. Ego-documents are current but often ignored sources on this topic, i.e. the authors of these documents are the main characters of these documents, which were not meant for publishing. The ego-documents include diaries, memories, autobiographies, visitor books and correspondences. Therefore, the second part of the paper includes a chronological list of the extant personally written sources by Czech authors and short introductions of their authors. Interpretation and comparison of these sources will bring about a vivid picture of travelling in the Giant Mts.
