Práce analyzuje vývin a zdravotní stav kořenového systému smrku ztepilého (Picea abies) postiženého chřadnutím a žloutnutím asimilačního aparátu v oblasti LS Horní Maršov Krkonošského národního parku (KRNAP). Do analýz byly zahrnuty porosty ve věku 10 až 80 let z umělé i přirozené obnovy. Spolu s analýzami kořenového systému byly realizovány analýzy chemických vlastností půdy, asimilačního aparátu, průběhu počasí a emisní situace. Z analýz vyplynulo, že poškozené jsou porosty na silně kyselých, chudých a pro vodu velmi propustných stanovištích. Poškozené stromy mají malý a deformovaný kotevní kořenový systém s menším počtem horizontálních kořenů, méně jemných kořenů, které mají nižší životnost (velký podíl mrtvých jemných kořenů) a pronikají převážně pouze nejsvrchnějšími humusovými horizonty. Kořenový systém poškozených stromů je napadán václavkou (Armillaria), která kolonizuje kotevní kořeny. Hniloby kořenů nebo kmene stromu však zatím zjištěny nebyly.
The study analyzes development and health condition of root system in Norway spruce (Picea abies) affected by decline and yellowing of assimilatory organs in the locality under management of the Forest District Horní Maršov in the Krkonoše National Park (KRNAP). The analyses included data from artificial and natural regeneration stands that were 10-80 years old. The root system analyses were combined with analyses of chemical characteristics of soils, assimilatory organs, weather conditions and emission situation. Damaged stands grew on strongly acidic, nutrient-poor and readily permeable sites for water. Affected trees had small and malformed anchoring root system with less abundant horizontal roots, less abundant fine roots, which showed lower vitality (high proportion of dead fine roots) and mostly penetrated only through the uppermost humus horizons. The root system of injured trees was attacked by honey fungus (Armillaria), which colonizes anchor roots. However, rots of roots or tree stems have not been observed so far.
