Wielki Staw is a deep dimictic, oligotrophic and acid lake with extremely poor habitats. May Staw is a shallow polymictic water body characterized by frequent exchange of water, which is enriched with humic substances. The submerged vegetation of Wielki Staw is build by numerous population of Isoëtes lacustris with addition of asmall number of Sphagnum denticulatum and Warnstorfia exannulata. In May Staw submerged vegetation forms: a very loose community of Callitriche hamulata with an addition of Sparganium angustifolium (shallow part) and a dense carpet of bryophytes - Warnstorfia exannulata and Fontinalis antipyretica (deep part).
Wielki Staw to jezioro głębokie, dimiktyczne i kwaśne, o skrajnie oligotroficznych siedliskach. Mały Staw jest płytki i polimiktyczny. Cechuje go częsta wymiana wody iwzbogacenie w substancje humusowe. Roślinność podwodną Wielkiego Stawu buduje liczna populacja Isoëtes lacustris z niewielkim dodatkiem Sphagnum denticulatum iWarnstorfia exannulata. W Małym Stawie roślinność tworzą: w strefie płytkiej - luźne zbiorowisko z Callitriche hamulata z domieszką Sparganium angustifolium a w strefie głębokiej - zwarty dywan mszaków (Warnstorfia exannulata i Fontinalis antipyretica).
