Dlouhodobé sledování endemického všivce krkonošského, Pedicularis sudetica Willd. subsp. sudetica, upřesnilo dosud známé poznatky a přineslo některá nová fakta.
Long-term examination of the Sudetic Lousewort, Pedicularis sudetica Willd. ssp. sudetica, has made the earlier data more accurate, and brought about several new facts. There are altogether 15 disjunct localities of this taxon in the Czech part of the Giant Mts. The plant displays a clonal character: Its rhizome ramifies, creates sister rosettes and strikes roots, however, the connection of the ramets with mother plant is relatively short. In mechanically disturbed soil, fragments of the rhizome and attached roots serve as “vegetative reproduction structures”. The hemiparasitic behaviour of this taxon is manifested by its linkage to a broad range of mountain herbs and ferns. Generative reproduction was reasonably successful in the laboratory, however, it appeared very difficult in natural habitats.
