Z šetření typologie lesů vycházejí podrobně lokalizované potenciální přirozené dřevinné skladby, půdní poměry, růstové podmínky, ohroženost erozí (zvláště introskeletovou), ohroženost abiotickými a biotickými činiteli, lidskou činností apod.
Potential natural tree species composition (localized in detail), soil conditions, growing conditions, erosion threat (esp. introskeletal erosion) forest endanger by biotic and abiotic factors and human activities are investigated and assessed by typological research. On the base of the Geographical Information System, forest typology results could be compared with other human activities and conditions, analysed and summarized on the whole Krkonoše National Park region, or on some part of it. With the aid of forest typology, Natura 2000 mapping has been performed and the Forest Management Plan 2003-2012 (basic tool of forest ecosystem management in the Krkonoše National Park) is formed. For the bilateral Biosphere Reserve Krkonoše/Karkonosze needs, Czech and Polish forest typological classification should be unified.
