Mapping of protected and endangered plant species, dominant grasses and Calluna vulgaris in the ecosystems of Nardetum phytocoenosis and in the native or planted dwarf pine vegetations in the area of tundra communities of Harrachova louka, in the sub-alpine zone of the western Giant Mountains (13391421 m). The presence of significant protected and endangered plants in phytocoenosis out of the area occupied by closed stands of dwarf pine polycormons was examined by monitoring. Taking into consideration the uniquity of the ecosystems in Harrachova louka, including the presence of frost soil, no further plantations of dwarf pine are recommended by the environmental management. The study also alerts to the advancing trend of synanthropization in the surroundings of the tourist pathways and rest places.
