In this research the following characteristics were analyzed: age at the breast height, biosocial structure and the diameter of trees from few stands defined as indigenous. It was taken note that the stands which grown up to 1787 (Barzdajn 1991) are defined as certainly indigenous and stands established before 1860 (Kocięcki 1988) are defined as probably indigenous. The differentiation of age, biosocial class or DBH structure prove only the ability to natural regeneration of stand. The only characteristic which allows to identify the indigenous of spruce stands is their age and, especially maximum age of the oldest trees, and - to a small degree - the average age. This characteristic is useful only when the information about the import of seeds in the Sudetes are sure enough.
